Jejich variace proužkatých triček a svetrů i jejich námořnické kabáty jsou velmi oblíbené, kvalita materiálů i zpracovaní je velmi vysoká a střihy klasické. Nyní, na jaře, jsme pro Vás připravili něco speciálního. Armor Lux spojil své síly s famózním britským navrhářem Nigelem Cabournem.
We can say that we have been working with Armor Lux for a long time. The reason is simple: their Breton shirts, striped knits or pea costs are very popular, the quality of fabrics is great and the cuts are quite classic. This spring we have something more, something very special. The very first time there is a collaboration between Armor Lux and famous british designer Nigel Cabourn.
Pro všechny komu toto jméno nic neříká máme pár informací. Nigel Cabourn je chlapík z anglického Newcastle, který se pohybuje ve světě módy již více než 40 let. Ovšem jeho vlastní pojetí slova "móda" je poněkud odlišné od běžného chápání tohoto slova. Není totiž ovlivněn žádnými splašenými trendy, ale spíše je veden svou dlouholetou vášní pro vintage oblečení, dobové materiály atd. Tato vášeň a smysl pro detail je vidět na většině jeho produkce.
Nigel Cabourn has worked in the fashion industry for over forty years, but his clothing has little in common with most people’s concept of the word ‘fashion’. He is influenced not by trends but a longstanding passion for vintage clothing, fabric and details. These elements have formed the basis for much of his output and continue to be a vital part of his collection today.

Má jednu z největších sbírek vintage oblečení na světě, která nyní čítá přes 4000 kusů, což je opravdu obrovské číslo. Tato sbírka je pro něj a pro jeho tým nevyčerpatelným zdrojem inspirace při návrhu oblečení, které je postaveno na nejlepších materiálech, ale zároveň opravdu obsahuje množství propracovaných detailů, které se v dnešní době moc nevidí. Vhledem k tomu, že stále sídlí v severní Anglii, kde počasí umí být pěkně vlezlé, věnuje se velmi často i outdoorovému oblečení (viz např. Cameraman Jacket nebo pro extrémní zimu třeba Everest Parka - to jsou dnes již klasické kusy z kolekcí Nigela Cabourna).
Nigel Cabourn has a great collection of vintage clothing which now numbers over 4000 pieces which is of course for him and his crew the main inspiration for designing new collections. His garments are based on the best available materials, but there are always lots of details which you don't see much on today's garments. Nigel Cabourn is still located in Newcastle in northern England. The weather is not the best during the year thus there is a strong focus on outdoor garments (we can see that there are a couple of really classic items: Everest Parka or Cameraman Jacket).
Bonneterie d'Armor byla založena roku 1938 švýcarsko-německým imigrantem Walterem Hubacherem. Začal vyrábět kvalitní spodní prádlo a také slavné bretaňská pruhovaná trika pod značkou Armor Lux. Armor Lux má nyní 3 továrny ve Francii, 650 zaměstnanců a více než 70 let zkušeností s výrobou kvalitního oblečení. Od samotného začátku je Armor Lux a její produkty přirozenou součástí bretaňského životního stylu.
The Bonneterie d'Armor was founded in 1938 by Swiss-German businessman and engineer Walter Hubacher. He started with creating a production of high quality underwear and Breton striped shirts under the brand "Armor Lux". Today Bonneterie d'Armor includes three production facilities in France, 650 employees and more than 70 years of experience in high quality wear. Armor Lux has always been a company committed to sustainable development and has thus been deeply involved in the local life of the beautiful region of Brittany.

Prvotní myšlenka spolupráce vznikla na historicky cenné půdě starého letiště Tempelhof v Berlíně během veletrhu Bread&Butter, který se tam odehrává dvakrát ročně. Krátce poté se již domluvila nějaká pravidla a vznikly dva parádní kousky: dámský svršek inspirovaný rybařskou halenou a pánské triko s knoflíky u krku, která pravděpodobně nosil i Váš děda. Použitý materiálem je zde dvouvrstvá tkanina ze 100% bavlny vyrobená na starých tkalcovských strojích, které Armor Lux vlastní a stále používá.

Shortly after this meeting the flags were set and out came two beautiful pieces: a lady’s top based on an old fishermen’s smock and a henley neck shirt like grandpa used to wear it. The fabric used is a highly twisted two-ply circular knit out of 100% Cotton made on those old roundknit machines that Armor lux still uses!

Pánské triko, kterému se říká Henley (díky typu límečku) máme ve dvou barevných provedeních, klasické tmavé námořní modré anebo v barvě Hena v kombinaci se světlou přírodní barvou. Typ trika Henley se tak nazývá podle původních dresů veslařů v anglickém Henley-On-Thames. Nezvykle dlouhý pás s knoflíky usnadňuje přístup do vnitřní kapsičky, na rukávech je zapínání obvyklé spíše u košil a na obou bocích rozparky (opět řešené tak, jak se tomu dělávalo dříve). A to jsou právě ty detaily, kterými je Nigel Cabourn proslulý.

The name Henley comes from the past when the rowers in English town Henley-on-Thames used to dress these shirts. Unusually long placket helps to access to the inner pocket. There are single-button cuffs which we normally see more on the shirts and there also vented hems (traditional hems, but feature two cuts to each corner, a ‘la Ralph Lauren). Yes, these are those details which Nigel Cabourn brought to the table.
Dámské triko vychází z tradičního rybářského úboru (tzv. smock), který je ovšem střihem upraven pro dámy. Specifický je límec a způsob, jakým je vyřešeno šněrovaní u krku nás přesvědčilo o tom, že tyto trika musíme v obchodě mít. A to i přesto, že se věnujeme téměř výhradně pánskému oblečení. Tohle je opravdu nadčasový kousek z neobyčejného materiálu. Opět nabízíme v námořní modré či Hena.
Ladie's shirt is inspired by traditional fisherman's smock but the fit is updated for ladies' bodies. Quite unusual is the collar and the way how to tie the closures at the neck adds a new twist to this traditional garment.
